The Rockfield Place was appropriately named for the rocky soil of our land overlooking the San Miguel River. Hills of sagebrush, cactus and rock have been transformed into green alfalfa fields and orchards.  Organic growing methods are employed for all crops, including pasture land.  Drip irrigation is used on all our produce and flowers. We truly care about our land and the ecosystem we are creating.

Our English Morello tart cherries are a summer delight. The smell of lavender permeates the air June thru September and provides forage for our honey bees. Organic heirloom vegetables including tomatoes are grown for the NFCM where we have been a vendor since the inception of the market. We have recently added high tunnels to extend the vegetable growing season. The farm also raises alfalfa hay andprovides winter pasture for area cattle.

We provide grass fed beef for the freezer and pasture pig and honey.  This will be our 5th season at NFCM and we also will sell to you at our farm.  We’ve been grass farming in Nucla for about 10 yrs with the goals of providing healthy meats while also improving our soil.  Every year we learn more about raising animals naturally.  Our heritage is in land and family. These things are very important to us.
